Abstract:

This paper presents some new observations made during correlation study of pile capacity computed by wave equation analysis with failure load from static test. In order to determine proper soil parameters for analysis, pile capacity and Smith damping was considered as a function of elapsed time after end of initial driving. A linear damping-time relationship was found for one pile driven in clay and two piles driven in sand.
