Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Structures Congress XII
Abstract:
Application of fracture mechanics concepts to splice connections where bolts load timber members perpendicular to the grain is discussed. Attention is given to prediction of the load level at which cracks nucleate on the circumference of a bolt hole, and the load level at which the cracks grow in an unstable fashion.
