Synthetic Wind for Investigations in Time-Domain

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structures Congress XII

Abstract:

Buffeting investigations of large bridges carried out in time-domain permit modelling of the non-linearity of the system and wind force. Correct simulation of the natural wind plays a crucial role in these investigations. The paper deals with the problems of this method and gives an overview of the mathematical approach for generating wind sequences for essentially one-dimensional and two-dimensional structures.
