Abstract:

The ASCE Substation Structures subcommittee of the Committee on Electrical Transmission Structures (CETS) is developing a substation structures design guide. The guide discusses the analysis methods, loading and deflection criteria, member and connection design guidelines, structure testing, quality control and quality assurance, structural members and connections used in foundations, detailing and fabrication, construction and maintenance issues. The guide will be a valuable resource for the design of substation structures. A summary of the contents of the guide is presented.
