Abstract:

Provisions on limiting the flexural reinforcement adopted in the new AASHTO LRFD Specification for Bridge Design are summarized (1). They address minimum and maximum levels of reinforcement in flexural and compression members, and the percent of moment redistribution in continuous members, and prestress losses. The provisions are non-dimensional and can be applied to any code.
