Abstract:

The response of a hysteretic nonlinear system subjected to a filtered white noise is considered. The method of time-dependent equivalent linearization is used and the moment equations governing the nonstationary response statistics are formulated. For a rangeof values of parameters, root-mean-square responses of the isolator are evaluated. The results are compared with those obtained from the Monte-Carlo digital simulations and reasonable agreement is observed.
