Abstract:

Recently, it has become common for structural engineers to provide consulting services beyond their countries. Thus it is important that they become fully acquainted with the working conditions and systems in other countries and that local and foreign engineers cooperate with each other. As an aid to this endeavor, the writer introduces the states of practice under the Building Engineers Act in Japan.
