Abstract:

Duration of load (DOL) effects are assessed in 85-year-old heavy timber trusses using five common DOL models. These models are based on the idea of static damage accumulation. Material characteristics after 85 years of service are compared to virgin characteristics to determine the extent of change. This change will then be related to the calculated damage, using the damage accumulation models.
