Abstract:

Since most of the raw materials required to make concrete exist in lunar rocks and soils, concrete is considered as one of the most suitable materials for lunar structures. Author's research group has been conducting various studies on the lunar concrete, which include (1) production of water, (2) over-all concrete production system (3) structure assembling, (4) influences of lunar environments, and (5) economy. This paper is a state of the art report summarizing our recent studies on the lunar concrete, which also include some new result obtained from a vacuum exposure test.
