Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space IV

Abstract:

The paper addresses the waste management problems on Earth as they relate to a future lunar base and suggests measures to prevent these problems from occurring in the base. Offensive action must be taken from the very beginning of the settlement. The cheapest and safest ways to deal with trash are those that make common sense: production of less waste and an efficient recycling program.
