Abstract:

Since the infrastructure constitutes the economic base for production and consumption, its condition is a critical determinant of the economic viability of the United States. At the present time, the need for engineered maintenance and rehabilitation of highways, streets, bridges, airports and building structures has never been more urgent. The papers presented in this proceedings, Innovation in Repair Techniques of Concrete Structures, deal with the recent advancements and innovations that are used to repair deteriorated or damaged concrete structures. Besides discussing the role of nondestructive testings in repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures, they explore repair techniques for fire-damaged concrete, unbounded concrete structures, concrete slabs, and reinforced concrete pavement.
