Mathematical Modeling of Airport Pavements

by Arnold D. Kerr, Univ of Delaware, Newark, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Airport Pavement Innovations?Theory to Practice

Abstract:

Theories for analyzing rigid pavements are presented. The emphasis is on the choice of the proper models for the pavement and for the subgrade, and on the correct mathematical formulation of the problems under consideration, since the corresponding solutions are of increasing utility the closer the chosen model represents the actual situation in the field.
