by William F. Rogers, NCSPA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Pipeline Infrastructure II

Abstract:

This paper cites advantages of the rehabilitation/upgrading of under-rated or deteriorating culverts or bridges using corrugated steel pipe, tunnel liner plate or structural plate. Among the advantages cited are elimination of construction detours, maintenance of normal traffic flow during construction, reduced risk, cost savings, and an estimated design life that at least equals the life of the original structure. Examples of the application of this type of rehabilitation are described.
