Abstract:

An experimental study was proposed to investigate the characteristics of shallow rain-impacted flow using a recirculating flume and an artificial rainfall simulator. The fibre-optic Laser Doppler Velocimetry (FLDV) technique was used to measure both the mean velocity profiles and the distributions of longitudinal and vertical turbulence intensities for very shallow flow conditions. The results were compared with other experimental studies.
