Abstract:
The Federal Highway Administration is now requiring a comprehensive evaluation of bridge scour as part of the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). District 2, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) was the first District in Florida to initiate the scour evaluation program. This paper highlights the procedures developed and the results, to date, from scour evaluation of bridges in District 2.
