Abstract:

This paper is designed to consolidate selected research and results from investigations of the impacts of agricultural drainage on water quality in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. A review of the literature on water table management research (primarily studies that have centered on rates and amounts of outflows and associated nutrient losses) is presented. A limited discussion of future needs and directions for drainage and water quality programs follows.
