Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastlines of the Black Sea

Abstract:

Most of the sandy accumulative forms of the Black Sea are within Ukraine territory. There are various types of these forms differing in morphology, dynamics, source of material, interaction with non-wave factors, and origin. Most common forms are liman barriers. Modern development of spits, terraces and beaches is also discussed. Stationary observations has been the main method of study which permitted to obtain quantitative parameters of accumulative form morphology and dynamics. Field mapping and analysis of maps beginning from 1863 has also been made.
