Abstract:

Yangpu Bay is located in the northwest of Hainan Island. It consists of Yangpu Bay (outer bay) and Xinying Bay (inner bay). During 1983-1989, we carried out a series of research into the possibility of building a deep water harbour, and studied sedimentation of the embayments. This paper presents a summary of the work on the dynamics, geomorphology and sedimentology of the embayments.
