Abstract:

Management of a bridge system involves a complex decision-making process. A comprehensive bridge management system provides a set of tools that aid this process by selecting improvement projects, estimating costs, prioritizing projects, and so on. Such a system has been developed by the Indiana Department Of Transportation (INDOT), in cooperation with the Joint Highway Research Project (JHRP) at Purdue Univ This paper presents a discussion of the computer packages developed for implementing the Indiana Bridge Management System (IBMS).
