by Michael C. Pietrzyk, Univ of South Florida, Tampa, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Infrastructure: Planning and Management

Abstract:

The city of Port Orange, Florida, with a population of approximately 35,000, initiated an investigation to develop a simple yet comprehensive pavement management system for their 143-mile street network. Very minimal street inventory data, limited availability of field staff time, and only elementary knowledge of pavement management systems were considerations in the development of the Port Orange Management System (POPMS).
