Abstract:

The authors use the finite elemental program, which made by themselves and makes use of finite element method with rotational shell, to calculate the deformation in hyperbolic cooling towers. The Fourier is used to develop and approach the ring-deformation, and the Hermite Function is used to demonstrate the deformation in meridian direction. The program is applied to calculate the elastic stresses resulted from the hyperbolic cooling tower with many kinds of imperfections, and by calculating a series of conclusions are obtained. Because of the limitation of space, only the formula of the limited value of the initial imperfections and the approximately calculating method of the internal forces is published in this paper.
