Abstract:

There is a need for introducing toughness and ductility in SFRS design. The Japanese Standard introduces the equivalent flexural strength, which characterizes SFRS toughness and allows to elaborate fibre identity charts. A design method is presented based on compressive and tensile stress blocks assumptions and identity charts. Some practical examples illustrate the method.
