Abstract:

A transportation agency or firm faces the challenge of being suitably equipped to gather, reduce, and analyze large amounts of data. The organization must then communicate the meaning of the data to the intended audience. Employing off-the-shelf computer systems and general business software, it is possible to develop utilities that satisfy each of these application areas many of these needs can be addressed with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing packages.
