Abstract:

Using the terminal access roadway site for the new Denver International Airport as an example, this paper outlines a method for automating the preparation of grading plans and computation of earthwork quantities. Costs for performing these tasks using the automated method are compared to those for the traditional method, and tips on setting up a computer system to perform these tasks are also included.
