Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputers in Transportation

Abstract:

The methodology for making traffic control decisions is the subject of this paper. There exists a body of knowledge supporting a sound decision making process, but it requires the use of several techniques , most of which are applied by individual computer programs. The expansion and integration of these techniques had also been discussed in this paper. A computer program called The wizard of helpful intersection control hints (WHICH), has been developed to satisfy the requirement for an integrated methodology.
