Abstract:

An expert system is a type of artificial intelligence program that captures the human knowledge which is involved in making a decision. Expert systems are very suitable for solving problems of signalized intersections. One of the candidates for the expert system analysis is the Signal Operational Analysis Package (SOAP). It generates a large amount of numerical output information that is useful in design and evaliation of the operation ofa signalizad intersection.
