Abstract:

An overview of a study on bond of straight Glass-fiber-reinforced-plastic (GFRP) rebars to concrete is presented. The 54 specimens to be tested include several variables, such as the mode of failure (i.e. pullout or splitting), concrete compressive strength, bar diameter, clear cover distance, and top bar effects. The study is currently in progress and the results of those specimens tested to date are presented.
