Abstract:

The primary cause of bridge deck deterioration are cyclic freeze-thaw exposures and reinforcing steel corrosion caused by the extensive use of de-icing salts. However, there are other causes of distress. This paper presents an overview of potential causes of distress and conventional repair methods.
