Abstract:
The USEPA national strategy for reduction of combined sewer overflows places high priority on maximizing the amount of combined wastewater that is captured and treated in the existing system. Rehabilitation of these systems can significantly improve the volume of combined sewage that the system can treat on an annual basis. This paper discusses system rehabilitation from the standpoint of reducing combined sewer overflows and shows examples for three cities.
