Abstract:

In this paper a stochastic optimization model, called Demand Driven Stochastic Dynamic Programming (DDSP) is developed and is compared with a Bayesian Stochastic Dynamic Programming (BSDP). The DDSP is an improved and expanded version of the BSDP which was developed by the same authors. The operating policies generated by the DDSP are simulated in a real time operation of a reservoir. The results of the simulation are compared with these obtained by the BSDP model.
