Abstract:

This paper provides an overview of water management procedures and practices of non-federal water management agencies under drought conditions. The general components of drought water management in non-federal agencies are presented based upon the 1988 National Workshop on Drought Water Management. Examples of recent drought management processes in Colorado, California and the Tennessee Valley Authority are presented as illustrations. Similarities and differences in water management approaches are discussed.
