Abstract:

Connecticut's Wellhead Protection Program was the first in the country to receive EPA approval and remains one of the strongest programs in the nation. The program is based on comprehensive ground water protection efforts dating back to the 1960s and on a relatively new legislative wellhead protection initiative - Connecticut's Aquifer Protection Area Program.
