Abstract:

A method is developed for validating a probabilistic fracture analysis code (PROFRANC). The method is based on classical statistical techniques and experimental data. It is shown that PROFRANC predictions of the load at fracture initiation are consistent with the observed values of this load. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is used in the evaluation of the PROFRANC code.
