by John Trefny, Colorado Sch of Mines, Golden, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space III

Abstract:

Solar cells are recognized energy sources for use in space. In this talk, the current status of polycrystalline CdTe solar cell development and the potential use of this technology for large-scale space applications will be considered. Efficiency, manufacturability, cell stability, and economics (in relation to competing technologies) are among the factors which will be discussed.
