Abstract:

An approach to the probabilistic modelling and analysis of multicrystalline microfabricated beams is presented with application to micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). Random, textured multicrystalline beam structures are simulated and analyzed using the finite element method, employing randomly oriented orthotropic material properties.
