Abstract:

A operation and maintenance (O&M) plan for marinas is presented to describe the process and establish basic parameters that can be used as guidelines to more comprehensive site-specific plans for submission to authorities issuing permits and licenses. The operating principles and the necessary personnel to operate a marine are first discussed, then water quality management, maintenance and repair service, storage, handling and disposal of wastes, gear lockers, maintenance dredging and disposal, shoreline structures and general facility maintenance, emergency ioperations, and finally marina rules and regulations are outlined.
