Part of: Preparing for Construction in the 21st Century

Abstract:

Fragmentation in the U.S. construction industry is perceived as one of the major contributors to reduced productivity. Lack of communication may be the main difficulty. Communication is affected by specialization in the facility delivery process and the growing number of computer environments that comprise the communication channel. An integrated communication strategy is identified, containing a 'common' communication channel and shared data resource.
