Abstract:

The author suggests a new method for operational control of irrigation regimes which is based on monitoring of a number of critical parameters related to the yield potentials of crops. In the author's opinion, the best use might be made of the temperature difference between the plant cover and the air, which can be easily measured over vast areas.
