Abstract:

At the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), natural disasters of concern are caused by three major natural hazards, i.e., floods, earthquake, and droughts. These three hazards are not only distinct in nature but can have disastrous environmental impacts as well. In this paper, the author (1) examines the existing disaster mitigation measures of the Commission and (2) proposes investigation of a state-of-the-art, multi disaster reduction system to strengthen current measures.
