Abstract:

In order to plan maintenance dredging at the Port of Richards Bay, different studies were carried out. These were to determine the extreme dredging rates required in the long term and to predict quarterly, with the aid of a calibrated longshore sediment transport model, the volumes that should have been dredged and used to replenish the downdrift beaches.
