Alongshore Sediment Transport Rate Distribution

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Sediments

Abstract:

The initial analysis of a new set of experimental data on alongshore sediment transport rate distribution is presented. The distributions were generally found to be bimodal but tended to become single-peaked for lower wave heights and smaller grain sizes. The ratio of suspended load to bedload was fairly constant throughout these tests, even though grain size, wave height and wave period were varied substantially.
