Abstract:

The procedure for obtaining an approximate solution for the mean-square deflection as well as maximum mean-square stress of geometrically nonlinear rectangular plate with arbitary power spectral density by taking into account the influence of the various modes represented in the deflection is presented. The eqivalent linearization technique has been used for this purpose and compare the results with the single degree of freedom system which is solved exactly using the Fokker Planck equation.
