Abstract:

The purposes of this paper are to investigate the characteristics of waves coexisting with uniform currents on a sloping bottom. The theoretical calculations of the third order approximation are obtained and graphed in figures. Furthermore, the elaborate experiments are performed to verify the theoretical calculations about effects and breaking limits of waves on uniform currents. In addition, the results compared with previous studies are also made in this paper.
