Abstract:

Rehabilitation of the nation's infrastructure will require a significant expenditure of public funds in the near future. Efficient management of these funds will require tools that managers and decisionmakers can employ to optimally allocate the funds and prioritize infrastructure improvements. A general model that offers these capabilities is presented for the rehabilitation of storm-water conveyance systems based on minimized cost and minimized expected loss due to failure and underdesign. The model is tested on a simple hypothetical storm sewer network.
