Abstract:

Tools for the classification of fuel assembly types have been developed during the development of the Characteristics Data Base. The assembly class scheme is based upon the design of the reactor itself and is particularly useful for size- and handling-based applications. The fuel design designation based upon the specific engineering design of fuels. It is useful for performance-based applications. This paper describes these tools and presents results of their applications.
