Abstract:

Most hydro facilities have been in operation for many years and, consequently, must periodically have been rehabilitated. The high cost of energy, labor, materials, and financing dictate that innovative solutions must be developed to address the challenging problems. The repair of an 800 ft long concrete gravity dam with water flowing beneath it through a local 10 ft deep hole required innovative solutions to address the engineering, construction and environmental challenges.
