Abstract:

This paper has been directed towards the presentation of seven reliable planning tools (mathematical models) that can be used for the investigation of the planning options facing policy and decisionmakers. These tools include two groups of mathematical models. One group of models concerns the Nile River water-supply system and involves inflow forecasting, Lake Nasser simulation, and the High Aswan Dam operation. The second group of models is concerned with the service area between the High Aswan Dam and the Mediterranean Sea. They are used to analyze the impact of the water delivery system on agricultural policies, and vice versa, and plan the distribution of water through the system.
