Abstract:

Cellular concrete mat (CCM) overtopping protection systems have been designed for and will be installed on three small embankment dams along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Based on recent field tests by others and on the bids received for the Parkway dams, CCM systems offer a cost effective way of protecting existing earth embankments during overtopping floods. CCM bid prices for the Parkway Dams are provided.
