Abstract:

Chutes constructed using concrete building blocks for erosion control on ephemeral streams have performed successfully. The chutes consist of a layer of blocks placed on a geotextile over granular material on the foundation soil. Tests have provided hydraulic rating, stability and outlet design information. This type of chute has been designed for rehabilitation of a dam.
