Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

Hydraulic geometry data based on field and office studies are presented for a series of streams in the Black Creek and Long Creek watersheds in the upland hills of Central and Northern Mississippi. Graphical relationships are shown linking channel widths, depths and slopes to discharges and materials. These relationships are compared with similar published relationships for rivers and channels in other regions and countries. Results of the comparison are discussed in relation to particular features of the environment and geomorphic history.
